Writing to Persuade

Writers are passionate people who feel strongly about things in which  they believe.  They are also communicators.  It usually doesn't take long before they begin lacing their work with appeals to the readers to support the writer's pet causes.  Frequently the results are disastrous, not because we lack the skill to get our point across, but rather, because we don't know when to quit.  This month we take up the twin subjects of persuasion and propaganda, and I use myself as a good example of what not to do when you really feel strongly about something.
